Emma joined Riverbend in February of 2024. For the last nine years she’s dedicated herself to learning land stewardship methods for a variety of habitats. Her focus has been in Southeastern Pennsylvania and the Delaware River Watershed. She’s spent a considerable portion of her professional life working with volunteers and community members in Philadelphia’s park system for Riverfront North Partnership and Philadelphia’s Parks & Recreation Department. Additional years spent as a Stewardship Assistant at Natural Lands were formative for developing her technical skills. In addition to public lands Emma also works with private landowners to develop native planting palettes, land management strategies and garden installations at their homes.
Emma is an ISA-certified arborist and all-around plant lover who is always learning about the natural world. She’s excited to get her hands dirty with the Riverbend community and looks forward to seeing you out on the preserve!Â
Emma was born in Philadelphia and is a graduate of the Academy at Palumbo High School in South Philadelphia, and the University of Pennsylvania where she studied Science, Technology, & Society and Environmental Science.
