Bequests, Planned Gifts

A Gift That Keeps Giving

You can support environmental education now and well into the future. No matter the size of your estate or age, your will empowers you to name the people and organizations, such as Riverbend Environmental Education Center, who can put your assets to work for good. We encourage you to consider a generous gift that helps protect a 30-acre preserve with a historic barn and farmhouse while nurturing the talent and conviction needed to protect our natural world.

The simplest, most common planned gift is naming the center as a beneficiary in your will, IRA, qualified retirement plan, or life insurance policy. This option is revocable and it does not affect your current finances. It can, however, create a lasting impact on a community and a special preserve you care about.

Sample bequest language:

I bequeath ____% of my residuary estate (or $___________) to Riverbend Environmental Education Center, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable cultural organization, located in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, for its ongoing film, live performance, and other programs. Federal Tax I.D. number: 23-7455526.

Thank you for considering a gift that keeps on giving!

Stocks

Your Gift of Appreciated Stock May Have Multiple Benefits!

Gifts of securities, such as stock, that have increased in value are a popular asset used for charitable giving because of the mutual benefits provided to the charitable organization (us) and the donor (you).

How it works...

Selling a stock or bond that has appreciated in value subjects the individual seller to a tax on that capital gain. A public charity, such as Riverbend Environmental Education Center, is not subject to income taxation therefore it can sell your donated securities without being subject to the capital gains tax. Additionally, a charitable gift of securities held for over one year often entitles the donor to an income tax deduction equal to the value of the security at the time it is given to the charity.

When you are ready to give...

Please fill out the form below with your information. Once submitted, a Riverbend representative will reach out to assist you.
