Jill joined Riverbend in 2018, bringing 14 years of experience as an educator in university and high school classrooms. As Associate Director of Education, Jill ensures that Riverbend’s programs embody high-quality, best-practice environmental and science education. She develops and teaches programs for students and teachers, directs Riverbend’s Nature-Based STEM Community of Practice teacher PD program, designs programs for scout troops, and blazes and creates signs for Riverbend's trails. Jill graduated from Georgetown University (BA, English), Vanderbilt University (MDiv, environmental ethics), and the University of Pennsylvania (PhD, American literature), and is a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist. Jill is dedicated to repairing and nurturing the relationship between children and nature so that both may flourish.
