Dan Hicks

Part-Time Educator

Dan joined the Riverbend team, fall of 2023. Graduating in 2013 with a BS from the University of Arkansas, Department of Geoscience, Dan went directly into the role of an environmental educator working for Ozark Natural Science Center. There, Dan gained field experience with many research opportunities such as banding/tracking the migration of Sawhet owls, using radio telemetry to analyze species richness of Timber Rattlesnakes and studying stream ecology by monitoring water quality of different creeks in relation to the local watershed. For the past 5 years, Dan has taught 6th grade Science to middle school students, spending summers camping, fly fishing and playing live music in a band. Dan is excited to once again be working outside sharing his passion and knowledge of ecology while connecting people with nature!
